LEIGH EAST TO CREATE HALL OF FAME LEIGH EAST TO CREATE HALL OF FAME

Leigh East will welcome a host of names from the past on September 1st, together creating a "Hall of Fame" to acknowledge the part that many people have played in the history of the club since its formation in 1977.

Overall fifteen people will be inducted, ranging from Geoff Owen, Jim Hoffman and Mick Pilling, right through to the likes of Steve Grimshaw, Gary Pendlebury and Alan Prescott. Others who will be honoured include Brian Burns, Frank Costello, David Kay, John Latham, Eddie Robbins, Eric Gregory, John Lewis, Lynn Kearns and John Hession.

It all forms part of a magnificent day which starts at noon when Leigh East girls take on Wibsey Warriors. The junior sections of the club will come together for a training session between 1pm and 2pm with East First Team hosting West Bowling in the National Conference League at 2.30pm.

Before kick-off Owen, Hoffman and Pilling will be the first inductees at approximately 2.20pm. Then at half-time Burns, Costello and Kay will be added with Latham, Robbins and Gregory being inducted after full-time.

A full family disco will take place from 4pm until late with raffles, fun and games aplenty before Lewis, Kearns and Hession will be honoured at 7pm.

The final inductees of the evening will follow at 9pm when Grimshaw, Pendlebury and Prescott will take their place in the Leigh East "Hall of Fame".

The club wishes to acknowledge the hard work of everyone that has helped to put this together and are looking forward to a brilliant day. We'd love for as many people as possible to join us.
